High school students in California will take a standalone personal finance course under Assembly Bill 2927. Our materials are mapped to the Personal Finance Curriculum Guide so you can reinforce banking, budgeting, credit, taxes, insurance, and investing with confidence.

To support California educators in meeting the new course and graduation requirements mandated by Assembly Bill 2927 (course by 2027–28; required for graduation beginning 2030–31), we have aligned our learning materials to the official Personal Finance Curriculum Guide, adopted by the State Board of Education in March 2026.

Education Code Section 51284.5 identifies Topic 13 as other topics directly and specifically relevant to personal finance, including purchasing versus leasing a vehicle, renting an apartment, buying a home, digital finance, predatory lending, and California-specific financial information. The Personal Finance Curriculum Guide states that these concepts may already be addressed within Topics 1–12. The lessons that cover them have been assigned and are referenced in Topics 1 through 12 above.
